First, you learn. Then, you lead.

Your Montessori Training in Valencia Will Be the Experience of the Child

Rooted in Montessori principles. Designed for the modern Elementary guide. Because the best Montessori guides were once Montessori learners themselves.

At SBM Educators, Montessori teacher training is built on the same principles Dr. Montessori used with children; respecting autonomy, making learning purposeful, and sparking transformation from within. Before you can guide a child, you must experience that shift yourself.

Our hybrid Montessori program in Valencia prepares Elementary guides who are active, intentional, and ready for real classrooms. Through hands-on experiences, meaningful collaboration, and purposeful work, you’ll earn your AMS-aligned certification while living the philosophy you’ll one day teach.

Most frequent questions about our AMS Montessori Training in Valencia, Spain?

Upon successful completion, you will be eligible to apply for an AMS (American Montessori Society) Elementary I credential (ages 6-9) or Elementary I & II credential (ages 6-12), depending on your chosen track. Our program is designed to meet all MACTE (Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education) standards, and full accreditation will be in place prior to graduation.

Yes. SBM Educators is in the AMS and MACTE accreditation application process. Full accreditation will be secured before our first cohort graduates in 2028, ensuring all graduates are eligible for AMS credentialing.

Upon receiving AMS accreditation, credentials earned through SBM Educators will be recognized worldwide and highly regarded in Montessori schools globally. Many international schools also require credentials evaluated through NACES-approved services like WES—graduates can pursue this evaluation independently if needed for employment outside the US or Europe.

The program runs over two academic years (2026-2028). During the academic year, expect 10-15 hours per week for online coursework, plus observation hours in a Montessori classroom. The in-person intensives are 4 weeks (July 2027) and 4-6 weeks (July 2028) in Valencia, Spain.

While the program is bilingual, you do not need to be fluent in both languages. Course materials and instruction are available in both Spanish and English, and you can complete assignments in your preferred language. However, some exposure to both languages is beneficial as you’ll be part of a bilingual cohort.

The hybrid format is designed to accommodate working professionals. Online coursework is asynchronous, allowing you to study on your own schedule. However, you will need to arrange time off for the two Valencia intensives and complete required observation hours at a Montessori school during the academic year.

We work with students to connect them with partner schools for observation requirements. If you are not currently working in a Montessori environment, we can help facilitate placements within Spain or, depending on your location, coordinate with schools in your region.

Yes. After the €100 application fee and 10% enrollment deposit, the remaining balance is split into two installments: 45% due September 1, 2026, and 45% due December 1, 2027. All payments are processed via bank transfer.

Tuition includes full access to the LMS platform, all course materials, digital portfolio tools, scheduled mentorship sessions, and an on-site teacher educator visit within Spain during your practicum year.

Travel to and from Valencia for both intensives, accommodation and living expenses during the intensives, and any personal costs related to observation placements outside of Spain are not included.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and remain open through July 2026. We encourage early applications as spaces are limited for the inaugural cohort.

SBM Educators is taught by a collective of teacher educators, providing multiple perspectives and diverse teaching experiences. We emphasize practical classroom readiness—literacy instruction, classroom management, parent communication, and co-teaching—alongside traditional Montessori theory. You’ll also receive an on-site teacher educator visit during your practicum, which is a distinctive component not typically offered in other models.

Yes. One of the key benefits of our training model is the on-site teacher educator visit. A member of our faculty will observe you in your classroom setting during your practicum year, providing personalized feedback based on your specific teaching environment and challenges. This visit is included in your tuition for placements within Spain.

Elementary I prepares you to teach children ages 6-9 (lower elementary). Elementary I & II prepares you for ages 6-12 (both lower and upper elementary). The Elementary I & II track includes additional coursework and practicum hours focused on the developmental needs and curriculum for 9-12 year olds.

Switching tracks may be possible during the first semester, subject to program approval and payment of the tuition difference. After that, you would need to complete Elementary I and pursue Elementary II separately.
